Law and Order – Human Flesh Search Engine – Casting News
[JIM LEARY] 36-44, libertarian. He is the brains behind Searchposse.net – an Internet site that is a “forum for corrective social action.” The participants post photos and descriptions of wrong-doers (people who text while driving, litter, deface public property, don’t pick up their dog’s poop, etc) in the hopes that fellow citizens will track the wrongdoers, identify them and post their names and addresses. Many of the sites visitors post threats against these wrongdoers – some are violent. When a man’s murder is directly linked to an enraged & mentally ill Searchposse.net user the question becomes is it free speech or does it incite violence? Leary is charged and brought to trial. LEAD
